On Friday 25th April 2025 The Imaam of Masjid ‘Abdullah Ibn ‘Abbaas of Crown Point, Tobago, gave a powerful sermon regarding the correct belief and stance that the Muslim who is striving to follow the Qur’an and Sunnah upon the understanding of the righteous predecessors, should have towards the leaders of the Islamic world – whether upright or tyrannical. The brother mentioned many evidences where the Prophet ﷺ gave explicit instructions and guidance on how to act towards a leader who is unjust or mistaken, and how to advise such a leader. There was also a stern warning against the individual Sami Hamdi, who is visiting Trinidad, who constantly attacks the Muslim leaders on many public forums and incites the hearts of the Muslims against them. This characteristic is from one of the worst of the Khawarij (the rebellious sect from the time of The Prophet ﷺ till today) known as the Qa’diyyah – The Inciters. They are those who encourage the masses to revolution and rebellion, but they themselves do not participate physically.
